New York Sephora Haul

IMG_4499 P1000856 IMG_4514
I'll start by saying that it saddens me that we are in 2016 and we still do not have a Sephora in the UK! Why on earth do we still not have it here?! My life would be made if we did end up getting one here in London. So obviously I was super excited to go to New York and go to as many Sephora's as I could - it literally is a beauty junkie's heaven.
I had a list of products I wanted to purchase out there, and I wanted to focus on brands I knew I can't get in the UK and top ups of my favourite make-up and skincare which I knew would be cheaper out in the states.
Starting with Make-Up Forever, I topped up on my favourite HD foundation as well as purchasing two products I have wanted to try for ages! The matching HD powder and the Full Cover Concealer. I am so excited to create THE flawless base with this trio.
I was most looking forward to visiting the Anastasia Beverley Hills stand as we do not have a department store in the UK where we can actually go and test the products. I already use the Powder Duo so I treated myself to the Dipbrow Pomade that everyone raves about and the Brow Wiz! I also wanted to try their liquid lipsticks so chose 'Carina' and 'Pure Hollywood'. The Sephora liquid lipsticks are also a blogger favourite so I wanted to try these out myself too as you can never have too many lipsticks!
MAC Cosmetics is also so much cheaper in New York so I picked up a few things I have been lusting over - these being 'Mehr' lipstick and 'Burgundy' lipliner. These look SO good together, I am in love with this combo, I'd definitely try this if you love a nineties inspired lip.
The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner was right up there on my list of absolute necessities that I needed to track down. This. Stuff. Is. The. Best. I feel naked without my eyeliner flicks and this is literally the best eyeliner I have ever used. I don't usually go for pen liners as I like a super neat, accurate flick and I can never recreate this with the pens so I usually use a brush. This however, is so black and I can create a neat flick in 5 minutes. You must get this!
Lastly, I picked up a couple of skincare items. The first being the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. I have this already but thought a cute mini size would be great for travel and quick freshen ups! The First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads I also picked up, can't wait to try these for achieving smooth, radiant skin.

Burgundy & Suede

Dress: Pretty Little Thing* | Roll Neck: Primark | Bag: Zara | Boots: Zara

It feels like absolutely ages since I've been able to do a proper outfit post! Now that the holidays are over and we are well into January, I wanted to show you what I am loving to wear at the moment. Pretty Little Thing recently got in touch and asked me to style a trend of my choice. I chose the 70's Uptown trend from their range picking this cute little Suede Dungaree Dress*. These dresses are so in at the moment and I really love the look of a roll neck jumper underneath dungarees. Paired with this also suede cross-body bag from Zara it gives a 70's feel to the look. This bag is my absolute fave at the moment and it's the perfect size for what I need daily!
These boots from Zara I posted on my Instagram about a month ago and everyone seemed to be as amazed with them as I am. I bought these back in November and *almost* ran towards them in the shop past all the crazy Christmas shoppers as it was (as cliche as it sounds) love at first sight. They're not the most comfortable of boots but when they look this good, who cares!

New York, Part 2

My second and final New York post! I can't believe it's been two weeks since I've been back, it feels like yesterday that I was roaming the busy streets and being amazed by everything I saw. After our boat trip around the Statue of Liberty we visited the 9/11 memorial and saw the One World Trade Center which was absolutely beautiful, and such an amazing tribute, this is definitely a must see! Unfortunately we didn't get to visit the 9/11 museum but I'd definitely recommend getting there early as the queues were long.
No trip to New York would be complete without a trip to Empire State Building, again, I'd suggest getting there early as the queue can take up to 2 hours but those views are so worth the wait. You can literally see the whole of New York so get your cameras ready and pick a good weather day to do this. The Top of the Rock is also just an amazing for it's views at the Rockefeller Centre. This was so cute and Christmassy at the time especially seeing all the iceskater's slipping and sliding on the ice rink.
Take a pit stop at the infamous Serendipity 3 opposite Bloomingdales for it's frozen hot chocolate. If you have seen the film 'Serendipity' you'll understand why these are so famous and they lived up to everything I imagined. So good!
Lastly we passed by the beautiful Grand Central Station. Why don't we have stunning train stations like this in the UK?!
There is so much to see in New York so if you are planning a trip anytime soon, make sure you plan what you want to see and what you're going to do and what you're going to see. It will save you a lot of valuable time!

Where is on your travel list this year?

New Clarins Skincare

clarins skincare clarins skincare
New year, means new skincare routines and trying out new skincare products! When it comes to skincare I'm also on the lookout for different brands and up to trying new products in the hope that I will one day achieve my dream of perfect, flawless skin!
Three new products added to my routine are these from, Clarins. Clarins is a brand I trust when it comes to skincare having used their products for years so was interested to give some products a go which I have yet to try.
First up is the Pure Melt Cleansing Gel*. I've used this in the past so was more than happy to get to use this again now that winter is well and truly here. This feels so luxurious on the skin as it transforms from a gel to an oil once applied to the warmth of your skin. I use this to cleanse my face at night which leaves my face feeling completely clean, glowing and silky. I love balm/oil style cleansers for giving my face a proper clean in the evenings. This product will be going to the top of my list for winter cleansing!
As important as cleansing is exfoliation! My skin is naturally dry all year round but super dry in winter. I have to exfoliate my body to keep soft as well as it being key when using fake tan. The Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub* is perfect for easy exfoliation in the shower, either apply to dry or damp skin in circular motions to remove those pesky dead skin cells and rinse away. I love this as it really scrubs away dry skin yet still feels gentle and leaves my skin feeling soft to the touch.
Lastly is a product I wouldn't necessarily pick up, the Body Lift Cellulite Control* is said to smooth, firm and refine the skin. Cellulite can be a problem for all of us, so I think anything preventative is always worth a shot. This feels super light and glides across the skin smoothly. It doesn't sit on the skin which I love and I specifically target this around my thigh area.

You can get all three of these products for FREE when you purchase two Clarins products (one to be skincare) on the Debenhams website. Hurry you only have a few days left!

New York, Part 1

So I was lucky enough to head to New York City over the Christmas period this year after wanting to go there my whole life, it certainly didn't disappoint the expectations I had!
This has been the one destination I've wanted to travel to and to be there around Christmas and on New Year's Eve was practically my dream. Who doesn't want to see the ball drop with their own eyes in Times Square?!
I spent a total of five nights at, The Westin Times Square Hotel and I'd definitely recommend this hotel purely for it's amazing location. Being a minutes walk away from Times Square was so convenient and easy. Yet you're far away enough to not be in the midst of the noise and the all night hustle and bustle. It definitely is the city that never sleeps!
Here are my favourite photos from the first three days spent there. I'd definitely recommend Juniors in Times Square and Jack's Wife Freda in Soho for starting off the day with amazing breakfast. Don't forget to book tickets to Woodbury Common Designer Outlets and spend the day searching for great bargains on designer clothes, handbags and more. My favourite shops were Calvin Klein and YSL among the beauty outlets. It's definitely worth the trip!
As well as all the endless shopping, we did our fair share of touristy sight-seeing, starting off with the Statue of Liberty boat trip. This was so good and you get to see the lady herself close up enough to get a good selfie! This boat trip also meant we got a panoramic view of the whole city which was definitely one of my highlights from the whole holiday.
Tune in to part two where I show you what else I got up to...
