WOW. So it's definitely been more than a while since I last blogged which I'm really upset about! I'm in my last year of university now, so I've had non-stop assignments, projects and tests these last few months so blogging has had to take a back seat. I'm not the type of person to put up half-hearted posts just for the sake of it, I'd rather I put up posts which I've spent time on and are better quality. As it's the Christmas holidays now, hopefully I'll have a bit more time to blog now!
I went shopping to Westfield, Stratford in London last week and picked up a few new things. The first being this Topshop hat. I've wanted a nice, structured hat for so long now but my head is so annoyingly small that none have fitted me. This one on the other hand did. I really love the colour of this and it makes a change from Black. I'm not used to wearing hats so felt out of my comfort zone a bit but I'm going to make sure I wear this a hell of a lot during Winter as it makes even the simplest of outfits look good.
I also picked up a lovely dusty-pink cropped fluffy jumper from New Look recently and wanted the White one too but that was out of stock. Luckily, I found this alternative in Primark which is just as nice (but not as soft). I really like these jumpers for adding a bit of texture and layering to Winter outfits.

Tartan, Faux Fur & Born Pretty Watch Review

TOPSHOP TARTAN SKIRT OOTD OUTFIT topshoptartanskirtootd TOPSHOP TARTAN SKIRT OOTD OUTFIT TOPSHOP TARTAN SKIRT OOTD OUTFIT BORN PRETTY STORE WATCH BORN PRETTY STORE WATCH BORN PRETTY STORE WATCH
(Skirt & Top: Topshop/Boots: River Island/Coat: Miss Patina*/Watch: Born Pretty Store*)

Another Tartan skirt outfit? I do love me some Tartan this year. It just looks so so good with everything, I can't help but wear it as much as possible. I like pairing my tartan with simple pieces so that the print is the main focus hence why this outfit is mainly otherwise Black. These boots are my new faveeeee boots from River Island. I never ever really shop in River Island anymore, but I have to say, River Island have stepped up their game when it comes to boots this A/W13. They have so many nice pairs of boots but these really caught my eye. I love a chunky buckled boot but I still feel these don't look too masculine as a really massive pair would look weird on my small feet. As it's absolutely freezing in England now, I now can get some wear out of my Miss Patina Cream and Black coat. I really love Cream coats as they go with any outfit and I am in love with the huge faux fur collar which is so soft and warm.

Accessories wise, I am wearing this wrist watch from, Born Pretty Store. I chose this watch to review as it's a classic, simple women's watch that can be put with any outfit. I also like my watches to have a large clock face and this one does which makes it easy to tell the time! I love the fact that this watch also looks a lot more expensive that it is - it's only $9.72 (£6.08) - bargain! I like my accessories to have a vintage feel and this watch has a cute black distressed leather strap which adds to the simplicity. Only thing to watch out for, I have teeny-weeny wrists and the strap comes up a little big although not too big for me to be unable to wear it. For everybody else, I think this would fit perfectly. You can check out this watch by clicking: here! They also have a lovely range of vintage-inspired watches as well as, LED watches and bracelet watches which caught my eye whilst browsing.
Born Pretty Store are offering all my readers 10% off using the code: KATIEZC10 which will get you this watch for even cheaper. Shipping is also free so that's another bonus!

MAC, Cranberry Eye-Shadow Look

MAC CRANBERRY EYESHADOW MAC CRANBERRY EYESHADOW MAC CRANBERRY EYESHADOW LOOK/REVIEW/TUTORIAL MAC CRANBERRY EYESHADOW LOOK/REVIEW/TUTORIAL
Now that Autumn is here, I can whip out one of my favourite eye-shadows of all time, MAC's Cranberry Eye-Shadow. I ♥ this shade, a lot! It's a perfect deep Burgundy shade with a Gold shimmer running through it. My first ever blog post was a review on this eye-shadow (here) and it is now one of my most popular blog posts, ever. Not surprising, as this shade is so popular! I find this shade to look different in different lighting - sometimes it will look almost Pink toned, whereas, other times it will look like a burnt Burgundy-Brown - whatever the shade, I think it's perfect for this time of year.

How I created this look:
I started with applying my base, (Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation), concealing any areas using Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light, filling in my brows and then powdering where necessary.
I then finished off my base using, MAC's Bronzer in, 'Gold-Go-Lightly' and Benefit's Rockateur Blusher on my cheeks as it's a nice Rose-Gold warm toned blush that won't clash with the eyes.

For my eyes, I find it best to apply a base when using the Cranberry eye-shadow. I used Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in, 'On and On Bronze' all over my lid and blended it out with my fingers. Next I used my MAC, 239 brush to pack on the Cranberry eye-shadow. I really like this brush for pushing on product on to a cream eye-shadow as fluffy brushes can just slip and slide both products everywhere. The 239 brush helps the powder to stick nicely to the cream base. To add some definition to the outer corner of my eye and into the crease, I used the shade, 'Tease' from the Urban Decay Naked2 Palette. I also adore this colour as it's so versatile for so many looks!
Finally, I also used my Naked2 palette for defining the inner corners of my eyes with the shade, 'Bootycall'. For my eyelashes I used, Dior's Iconic Mascara and then lined my bottom waterline with Rimmel's Scandal Eyes Eyeliner in Black.

Because the eyes are quite strong, I settled for a Nude lip, using MAC's, 'Boldly-Bare' lip-liner blended out with a lip-balm.

The best thing I found with this, is that the eye-shadow look did NOT crease AT ALL. I was actually amazed. I wore this to work and then into the evening for around 8 hours and there was not one single crease or smudging from the eye-shadows. I highly recommend MAC eye-shadows, the staying power is amazing!

Tartan Skirt

TARAN SKIRT MISSGUIDED TARTAN LEA SKIRT TARAN SKIRT MISSGUIDED TARTAN LEA SKIRT TARTAN SKIRT MISSGUIDED TARTAN LEA SKIRT TARTAN SKIRT MISSGUIDED TARTAN LEA SKIRT
(Skirt: Missguided/Top: Topshop/Boots: Topshop/Ring: Regal Rose)

Heeeello Autumn! Can't believe it's already October, where has the year gone?! I am also 21 this month, scary times. Anyway, this outfit features two of my favourite new buys for Autumn. The first is this Missguided Tartan skirt which caught my eye on their Instagram and I knew I had to get it as it would be perfect for this time of year. I love the colours of this skirt too with the Blue, Green, Red and White which makes a change to the traditional tartan colours. It was only £19.99 too!
Another recent purchase are these, Topshop, Cut-Out 'Monti' Boots. I've been on the look out for some cut out boots for ages now and the Arabel2 boots I tried out just didn't fit nicely at all! I actually much prefer these as they still have the cut out feature but look a bit more feminine. I've literally worn them everyday since I bought them and I'm sure these are gonna be the shoes I wear to death this Autumn/Winter.
I wanted to keep the top half of the outfit simple because of the tartan pattern so went with this plain Black crop. I'm trying to get as much wear out of crop-tops as I can before the weather gets extremely cold and I have to put them away until Summer again!

Malta 2013 OOTD Six - 'Golden'

IMG_18HOLIDAY OOTD FASHION BLOG IMG_1HOLIDAY OOTD FASHION BLOG HOLIDAY OOTD FASHION BLOG HOLIDAY OOTD FASHION BLOG MALTA THE POINT HOLIDAY
(Top: Asos/Skirt: Miss Selfridge/Sandals: Primark/Sunglasses: Ebay)

This is the last of my holiday outfit posts... Boo! I have really enjoyed writing up these posts because it brings back some amazing memories from this holiday to Malta which I will never forget! This outfit also makes me wish for Summer to come back! It's gotten so cold in England these past few weeks, Autumn is definitely here.
I have loved wearing this 90's Off the Shoulder Crop Top from Asos which you can get by clicking, here. I really wanted a White crop top this Summer rather than the usual black ones I have quite a few of. They make an outfit look really fresh and lovely with a tan. Be careful though, this top does ride up, so make sure you have some lovely family members/friends who can signal to you when your bra is out on full show (happens to me everytime I wear it). Nevertheless, this top looks amazing with anything and everything.
I love the colour tan as well, so this skirt was the perfect combination for the top. It's so lovely and floaty and you feel really feminine when you wear it.

Malta 2013 OOTD Five - 'Simple Rose'

(Top: Topshop/Levi Shorts: Love Clothing/Shoes: Converse/Headband: Topshop/Ring: Primark/Earrings: H&M)

Yet another Topshop Cami top to feature in my holiday outfit posts. I just can't help but love them. They are so versatile, chic and simple. I just hope I will get to wear them as much during the Autumn/Winter months coming up. I paired this top with my faaaaaaaaavourite shorts in the whole entire world, these light-wash denim Levi shorts I got off, Love Clothing. I bought them last winter and was worried about how they would fit so emailed Love clothing to see about the measurements. They emailed back saying that they would adjust them to my measurements which was so kind of them. I'd definitely recommend getting a pair from there as they're only £32. They fit me perfectly now!
To give the outfit some colour I popped on this floral headband which I think finishes off the outfit nicely. Not forgetting my trusty pair of White converse on my feet.
The last picture is the view from our hotel pool which overlooks the capital city of Malta called, Valletta. I took this picture as the sun started to set. Such an amazing view I'll never forget!

Malta 2013 OOTD Four - 'Orange & Gold Accents'

HOLIDAY OOTD FOUR HOLIDAY OOTD FOUR HOLIDAY OOTD FOUR HOLIDAY OOTD FOUR HOLIDAY OOTD FOUR
(Body: Asos/Skirt: Topshop/Sandals: Matalan/Sunglasses: Ebay/Hair Cuff: H&M/Ring: Primark)

This was one of my favourite holiday outfits from Malta. I really love the look of a bandeau leotard/body with slicked back hair to give a simplistic, clean look. I think the hair cuff is a nice finishing touch to a simple black outfit as I'm not a big jewellery fan (apart from rings). To brighten this summer outfit up, I wore my favourite Orange lipstick - Topshop's, 'Infrared' which looks so good with a tan and with the gold accents of the outfit - the studding on my sandals, my hair cuff and ring. It also matches the waistband of the skirt I am wearing.
I also adore this skirt I picked up in the Topshop sale last year randomly. See my previous styling of this skirt from a holiday outfit post, here! It's definitely one of my, 'go-to' skirts to pick out during the hotter months as it's so easy to wear in the summer. My material is such good quality but it feels so lightweight and airy when you put it on which is why I tend to go for midi skirts on holiday.
I don't want Summer to leave!

Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur Blusher

Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur Blusher Review Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur Blusher Review Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur Blusher Review Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur Blusher Review
I've never tried any of Benefit Cosmetics' boxed powders before so Rockateur Blusher is my first to test, use and try and also Benefit's new launch product. Working part-time at Benefit has it's perks, so I have got to try this product before it's official launch and I LOVE it! Benefit describes this blush as, 'a rockin' rose gold cheek powder' and it is exactly that. The blusher gives a pinky-peach swish of colour to the cheek but also due to the subtle gold shimmers running through it, this product also highlights the cheek area to give the illusion of highlighted cheekbones without being overly sparkly. I apply this slightly higher up the cheek than I usually do with blushers so that I can get that highlighted, swoosh of pink to my cheeks and face. A great multi-purpose blusher!
Like all Benefit's boxed powders, this comes with a brush. I don't use it because I prefer a more rounded brush, however, the brush is actually super soft and is good if you just want to use the blusher as a highlight along the high points of the face and you can get more accuracy using it.
The colour is so flattering, I have seen it look great on all different skin tones and either way I think it looks so stunning.
Again, like all Benefit's range, the packaging also adds to the uniqueness of the products. I think the embossing is so cute and another bonus is that the blusher actually SMELLS so yummy! A little goes along way so I don't think this blusher is priced too badly at, £23.50 as it will last a hell of a long time. Definitely try this product, you won't regret it.

Malta 2013 OOTD Three - 'Stained Glass'

IMG_1775 IMG_1759 IMG_1771 IMG_1773 IMG_1689
(Dress: Primark/Sandals: Primark/Necklace: Can't remember!/Ring: Primark)

Another unintentional Primark outfit. I do love Primark for Summer clothes because I don't really like spending a lot of money on clothes I will only wear for a couple of months a year. I would definitely wear this dress all year round though! The pattern of the dress reminds me of stained glass windows and I like the colours as I don't have anything like this in my wardrobe. Midi skirts and dresses are soooo easy to wear and are perfect for summer as they're comfortable; I've worn this dress a hell of a lot this summer already. For the colder months, I'd swap the sandals for tights, ankle boots and a long cardigan to complete the look. The good thing about this dress is that it hugs you in all the right places to create 'curves' which is good is you want to create that illusion.

Gotta love a bit of Primark.
